Dahlenburg befürchtete den Durchzug der geschlagenen französischen Truppen

Surname interest of the day -  Rieckens,  Meyer familie
Ort - Dahlenburg

Dahlenburg feared the passage of the defeated French troops. the citizens had packed their belongings and were prepared for flight. But the French were forced by Bleckede, and so passed only a few stragglers in haste the place.

After the withdrawal of the French billeting of troops of the allies added  further to the population. The Amtsvogtei Dahlenburg had to accommodate and cater for 8,000 men and 1,500 horses of the Russian Count Tolstoy. Count Tolstoy took up his quarters at the Office Vogt and Mayor Buhlert in Dahlenburg. Buhlert reported that the Bailiwick supplied a total of 210 000 soldiers at that time. The soldiers were forever hungry and always on the hunt for something to eat, besides, it was often overlapped, because the citizens, and even the peasants toiling.

They buried money and valuables and vulnerable family members brought to safety. Paula Dibbern, born Jenrich, traditional z. B. that the mother of her great-ancestor Rieckens was held in a camouflaged with boards and shrubbery hole in the ground in the garden before accessing the Cossacks hidden. The house Rieckens [Meyer] stood where shoe Dau house was built.

Hhmmmm "where shoe house Dau  was built".  What could that mean?.  I'll have to save that for another day.

Now,  doesn't that little bit of information  about  the  mutter Rieckens familie member hiding from the cossaks make you crave for more of that story.

Take care!

Interesting Tidbit About Burmesters hof in Ellringen

Hmmmmm. I have this in draft. I suspect i need to review the Bienenbuettel  Burmester of Ellringen.  I should go to the new Aida for more about it.

Genealogie - Lillie Vogel (Saucke), tocher des Henry J. Saucke und Minna Marie D. Saucke (Zeitz).

Arootdigger found this at source listed below. She believes finders are keepers. However if you disagree please leave a comment. I have had a invested interest in this family tree because of the location in Joliet, illinois and the Franz Josef VOGEL  is a nephew of Anna Vogel who married August Friedrich SEIL who also lived in Will county and was naturalized in Joliet. They were listed as second marriage in the church of St Peters near Farnhamville, Calhound county, Iowa.  I have been trying to find more on Dorothea Seil Dohrman for a very long time. I suspect she ties to Ahndorf or Boitze. The Saucke family has many connections to mine.  Stay tuned for more. Or just browse my blog. I had more information on the Vogels through tom vogels website. I didnt save it all to my database.

I have Lillie Vogel (SAUCKE), a daughter of Henry J. Saucke and Minna Marie D. SAUCKE (Zeitz).
Henry J. SAUCKE was born in Dec 1859 at area of Nahrendorf, in Hannover kingdom, Germany. He immigrated to the USA in 1883 and became a naturalized citizen in 1889. By 7 Jun 1900, Henry Saucke was living at Reading Township, Calhoun County, Iowa.
Minna Marie D. Zeitz was born on 6 Mar 1865 at Gadesbunden, Germany. She immigrated to the USA in 1881 and was naturalized a citizen in 1889.
Henry J. Saucke and Minna Marie D. Zeitz married 00 at Farnhamville, Calhoun County, Iowa on 12 Jul 1888.

I also have Alvina Carolina Katherena DOHRMANN, born 21 Oct 1871 at Joliet, Will County, Illinois. She migrated from Illinois to Calhoun County, Iowa on 31 Dec 1887.
Franz Josef VOGEL and Alvina Dohrmann married at Farnhamville, Calhoun County, Iowa on 1 Feb 1893.

Alvina Dohrmann was a daughter of Heinrich F. C. Dohrman and Dorothea Dohrman (Seil).
Heinrich Dohrman was bon on 13 Mar 1834 at  ? , Hamburg, Germany. He immigrated to the USA in 1870 and was living in Cedar Township, Calhoun County, Iowa by 9 Jun 1900.

Note :  Some of the above is based soley on family records.
Note :  If you are interested, I will be glad to send you reports from my database by e-mail. My personal e-mail address is wemanuel(AT)thenandchange.org . My job keeps me very busy during the work week, and I also travel at times for work. If there is a delay in responding to your inquiry, it's not due to lack of interest, and I will eventually get back to you.

From former Aida online - Archiv: Hauptstaatsarchiv Hannover - Boitze (Amts Bleckede)

Arootdigger shares  former Aida online  material with you today. I admit I have no idea what it is until I translate it.  [ lol ]
I just like the connections between Celle and Bleckede. The little point I wish to point out to you and myself for further reference is the way Kettelstorf of the area Himbergen Uelzen, Lueneburg Niedersachen  is said to be Amt. Medingen. Normally I would put Dahlenburg  linked behind Boitze. But it is by Dahlenburg. Actually part of Bleckede. There is the territory Bleckede and there is a village Bleckede.  The modern day connections to othervillages is something gained by googling the history of each village. Financial reasons are why the linking of many of the villages together had to be done. Just as you notice here in the midwest, USA the  schools in nearby towns are being consolidated.  And I error often in the way I link my villages on Ancestry.com.  I also use Aida to learn the history of the groups of villages and locations.
